My father is known by many names: pops, Mr. Rosalia, and Rob. He is an uncle, a father, a grandpa, a friend, a worker, an artist, a man of many talents, but to me, he was my hero. Growing up, he could conquer anything. Now that I’m older, I wanted to capture what I saw in him back then.
To accomplish this, I am using black and white filters. The black and white gives a nostalgic feel, making you feel as if the color is missing, while showing him in a serious tone. Without color, the images highlight his expression, his presence, and the seriousness beneath the surface. The simplicity of black and white lets the viewer focus on the man himself and the strength, history, and quiet stories that shape who he is.
